What is the maximum dose, Ozempic vs Wegovy?
Ozempic typically tops out at 2.0 mg weekly. Wegovy tops out at 2.4 mg weekly. Both start at 0.25 mg weekly and titrate up over months in stepped increments, with each step usually held for around four weeks before moving up, to give the gastrointestinal side effects time to settle. The Wegovy ceiling is 0.4 mg higher because the FDA approved a slightly higher maximum for chronic weight management based on the trials. Not everyone reaches the maximum dose; some people do best at a lower step and stay there if outcomes are good and side effects are tolerable. The right dose plan is your prescriber's call after reviewing your indication, response, and tolerance. Talk to your doctor about pacing and the target dose.
